Choosing a DNA testing laboratory for your immigration case may be one of the most important decisions you will make during the immigration process. Embassy requirements state that your DNA test must be performed by an AABB-accredited laboratory—yet, AABB-accredited laboratories vary in their quality of service. The laboratory at DNA Diagnostics Center (DDC) is highly accredited and exceeds the requirements established by the U.S. embassies. DDC is committed to excellence and continually achieves outstanding professional recognition across the United States and around the world.
By earning accreditation and certification through AABB, ISO, and NYSDOH, our laboratory supports our mission to provide the best DNA testing services to our clients wherever they are. In addition, our lab goes beyond the embassies’ minimum requirements for DNA testing laboratories and has achieved accreditations from CAP, CLIA, and ASCLD/LAB-International.
AABB
DDC is accredited by the AABB’s Parentage Testing Accreditation program, which sets the highest standards for laboratory proficiency and patient care. Because our lab is accredited by AABB, we frequently perform DNA testing for petitioners and beneficiaries in immigration cases, in addition to DNA testing for other legal situations. Originally receiving accreditation in 1996, DDC has earned the distinct honor of achieving perfect, zero-deficiency ratings for the past four consecutive inspections by AABB.
International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
Through the Forensic Quality Services-International (FQS-I) accreditation program, DDC has been recognized for meeting the ISO 17025 standards. ISO is an international organization committed to ensuring laboratory competency and good business practices around the world. By meeting the standards established by ISO 17025, DDC is internationally recognized as one of the leading DNA testing laboratories in the world. We are one of a very few select laboratories that is able to claim this achievement.
New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH)
DDC is certified by NYSDOH to provide DNA testing for residents of New York. This certification is important to DDC because it allows us to provide DNA testing for immigration petitioners, beneficiaries, and other clients in the state of New York. NYSDOH certification ensures that all aspects of our DNA testing meet rigorous standards; this includes processes performed outside of our laboratory, such as chain of custody and patient referrals. DDC has earned perfect ratings from NYSDOH in its past five consecutive inspections, an achievement that distinguishes our lab from most other AABB-accredited laboratories.
Other Accreditations
By participating in additional accreditation and certification programs, the laboratory at DDC goes beyond the requirements established by the embassies, USCIS, and State Department to provide you with the most reliable DNA test results for your immigration case. DDC has earned accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) for laboratory testing excellence and patient safety, the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) for excellent reporting of results and customer service, and the American Society of Crime Lab Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board-International (ASCLD/LAB-International) for superior forensic testing. Through these programs, DDC has earned perfect, zero-deficiency ratings in our laboratory inspections.
